Emma Degerstedt

Emma Kristina Degerstedt (born April 13, 1992) is an American teen actress who is best known for her role as Maris in the Nickelodeon TV show Unfabulous.
Biography
Degerstedt was born in Long Beach, California, but moved to Stockholm with her Swedish parents for a short while. She played "Kendra" in the musical comedy 13 written by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. She also starred in the Academy's production of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum playing the sultry and physically demanding role of "Panacia". Degerstedt also guest starred on the T.V. series Monk. However, she is most notable for playing the popular school bitch Maris on the hit T.V. show Unfabulous starring Emma Roberts on Nickelodeon.
Degerstedt is a competitive dancer with training in jazz, lyrical jazz, ballet, pointe, tap and hip hop. She also sings and is currently pursuing her life long dream of becoming a professional singer. She has aspirations to go to New York University or the University of Southern California. She speaks Swedish with her grandparents and also competes in jazz and lyrical jazz competitions.
Degerstedt currently resides in Huntington Beach, California, with her brother Mats and her parents, Carina and Mark. She was a student in the Academy for the Performing Arts and has been attending Huntington Beach High school since the fall of 2007 and is soon to be a junior.
