Emergency Umbrella Records

Emergency Umbrella Records, EU, is an independent record label in Columbia, Missouri.

Emergency Umbrella Records has seen three major turning points in its evolution to date. EU originally started with a collaborative idea of Billy Schuh and Chris Canipe's to create a community organization of sorts that included 20+ Columbia musicians and bands. These artists helped each other out with show-trades, booking and other related resources ... and banding together under the moniker of the umbrella. By early 2003, EU fully morphed into an active collective record label, with a smaller group of serious bands that all shared the same goals and vision. Emergency Umbrella Records includes 10 bands and 20 national releases thus far. Finally in early 2006 EU decided that they had been going steady long enough, and were ready to get married and make everything legal - thus EU became a full-on LLC.

Their current roster includes: The Foundry Field Recordings, Bald Eagle, Witch's Hat, Paradise Vending, The Kingdom Flying Club, Shirrelle C. Limes and The Lemons, Gentleman Auction House and Sinkane.

Fame
Recently, The Foundry Field Recordings and Bald Eagle have released well-received albums in the indie music community. Prior to this, The Kingdom Flying Club enjoyed much success on college radio, as well as having music featured on the television show, The O.C., and on AMC's "Movies at Eight," commercial.

Future
The Foundry Field Recordings are back in the studio working on their follow-up to Prompts/Miscues, due out sometime in 2008. The label has signed two new bands that will also release new records in 2008, Sinkane and Gentleman Auction House.
