EliteXC: Showdown

EliteXC: Showdown was a planned mixed martial arts event to be held by now-defunct EliteXC on November 8, 2008 in Reno, Nevada at the Reno Events Center. The event was cancelled due to financial issues with the presenting company.
The main event was to feature EliteXC middleweight champion Robbie Lawler defending his belt in a rematch against top contender Joey Villasenor. The last time the two fought was at PRIDE 32: The Real Deal where Lawler won by KO.
Top-ranked fighter Eddie Alvarez was scheduled to take on top contender Nick Diaz in the lightweight division. Former WEC light heavyweight champion Scott Smith was also scheduled to appear, fighting against former CFC middleweight champion Hector Lombard.
