Background
Invicta FC 1 was the inaugural event of Invicta Fighting Championships (Invicta FC), an all-female MMA promotion founded by former Strikeforce executive Shannon Knapp, and Janet Martin. Knapp and Martin are dedicated to promoting women's mixed martial arts. Bagherdai, Curry, Miller, and Ruyssen missed weight for their bouts. Bagherdai and Curry forfeited 10% of their purse to their opponent and Miller and Ruyssen foreited 25% of their purse to their opponent.
