Elise Harris is a British comedienne, filmmaker, and occasional actress. Career Harris was born in Pontypool, Wales and is based in North London. She was cited as one of London's star vloggers in the Evening Standard. Her short film "Vestal Virgin" was a SuperShorts winner. Harris has a background in journalism and was an writer at What Satellite and Digital TV magazine before concentrating on performing. She was also editor of the UK version of Pojo's Pokemon magazine Her radio work includes being the "Voice of the City" for BBC Radio 4's City of the Saved, written and directed by Lawrence Miles and presenting the news for Swansea Sound and Valleys Radio; she also presented Radio Peckham's Undertow. Since 2006, Harris has appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as sketch player, stand-up, MC and storyteller, as well as filing video reports from the festival via her YouTube page. She frequently served as substitute host of Andrew J. Lederer's Anthology storytelling comedy show at the Green Room venue during the 2007 festival. She has run The Ship of Fools comedy club in South London since 2006. In 2008, along with nine other notable video bloggers, Harris participated in the multi-platform relaunch of BBC Three as a member of the winning YouStage team on the programme Upstaged. Also in 2008, she appeared in Lee Akehurst's thriller, Dark Rage. In 2010 her first collection of poetry, Little Circus, was published. Notes and references
