Some modern practitioners of hardcore punk subgenres such as post-hardcore, metalcore, and screamo have been influenced by electronic music. In addition to typical hardcore characteristics, these groups make use of synthesizers, electronically produced rhythms and beats, and auto-tuned vocals. Such groups have been formed in England, electronicore, trancecore, and screamo-techno, among others. Some recently formed post-hardcore and metalcore bands utilize characteristics of electronica.
