Electronic hookah

An electronic hookah, also called an e-hookah, e-shisha or a hookah pen is an electronic vaporizer which is closely related to the electronic cigarette. The device is meant to resemble smoking shisha. Electronic hookahs are often flavored and, unlike traditional hookah smoking, do not contain tar or smoke. Electronic hookahs come in a disposable or reusable form, the reusable form including a rechargeable battery and flavor cartridges. Some brands, like , offer electronic hookahs that look like a traditional device, while others such as Everyday Hookah and Bliss Luxury e-Shisha offer electronic hookahs that have more modern designs. Electronic hookahs only emit water vapor, which does not harm the user or others around the user.
Electronic hookahs are found for sale in gas stations, convenience stores, and smoke shops in American cities. Electronic hookahs are not subject to an age restriction, but most stores will refuse to sell the product to minors.
Electronic hookahs are claimed to pose 99% fewer health risks than ordinary cigarettes or shisha, which both contain tar and smoke.
Many flavors are available, including bubble gum, cola, and a variety of fruits.
Comparison to Traditional Shisha
It is a common misconception that traditional hookahs are safe compared to cigarettes and merely provide flavour. According to Centers for Disease Control (CDC), a typical 1-hour traditional tobacco hookah smoking session involves inhaling 100 to 200 times the volume of smoke inhaled from a single cigarette. Traditional hookahs also increase the health risks by producing high levels of carbon monoxide, metals, and cancer-causing chemicals.
While there has been no empirical study, electronic hookah manufacturers claim that electronic hookahs are much safer than traditional hookahs. A e-hookah produces vapour by same technology as electronic cigarettes and electronic cigars. An eLiquid, typically made of distilled water, vegetable glycerin (USP grade), Propylene glycol (USP grade), and natural flavours, is vaporized inside an atomizer. The atomizer is activated by inhaling on the device; upon detecting the airflow, the heating element of the e-hookah is activated, releasing vapor.
Disposable Electronic Shisha Pen
A disposable electronic shisha pen, such as those found from brands such as Bliss Luxury e-Shisha, is a cheaper and easier way of smoking electronic shisha. A disposable shisha pen is not refillable, rechargeable and the flavour inside cannot be changed. Once the battery inside has run out of energy, it can no longer be used. In size it is around the same as an ordinary pen. They are known as 'hookah pens' on certain websites.
Most disposable shisha last for 500 puffs, which is around the same as 40-60 cigarettes.
