Electricbuda Records

Electricbuda Records is a Kenyan record label founded by Anton Omondi Odhiambo a.k.a. Antron 808 in 2006 in the suburbs of Nairobi. Current acts from the label include E.B (Antron 808), YKL (Young King and Lava, Bonke and Moha. The Label specializes in a Kenyan Hip hop sub genre called Kez-muzic (where the word 'Kez' is derived from the word 'Murekez' which is Arabic for Centre) the name Murekez or Kez-music came from the mostly Somali residence of South 'C' an Urban estate in Nairobi. Though each artist have their own separate acts, they all form a group called DEFCORE who release Underground mixtapes once in a while.


The label recently released a Kenyan Underground HipHop song for G-PANGE's successful youth AIDS awareness campaign 'Ma Youth Wa Kenya Mpo' the song was played by the local radio stations Ghetto Radio, Citizen Radio and was used shortly as a jingle on the local TV Channel KTN show StraightUP Live. The Song was performed by the duo YKL and where chosen to do so because of their distinct Underground style of Hiphop music.
