Eight Party Alliance is the name given to a coalition of the Seven Party Alliance and (CPN-Maoist), that is currently in power in Nepal. Girija Prasad Koirala (who has been become Prime Minister for the 6th time in last 17 years) is the Head of the Government.
This coalition government came into existence as a result of the Loktantra Andolan (People's Movement for Democracy II), which led to King Gyanendra relinquishing power in April of 2006.
