Effectrode

Effectrode is an analog effects pedal manufacturing company conceived by Philip Taylor while studying at Colchester Institute, Essex. The name is an amalgam of the words "effect" and "triode" because the company builds pedals based on triode vacuum tube circuitry.
Effectrode began in 1996 in Suffolk, UK. Their first pedal, "The Big Green Phasing Machine" , was a point-to-point wired 8-stage tube phaser containing eight 12AT7 signal tubes and EM-80 "magic-eye" to indicate the modulation speed. The LFO was implemented using a Fruhauf based tube circuit configuration to form a triangle wave time-base generator. This design was later refined by reducing the component count to fit on a double sided PCB. This became the Phaseomatic model PM-1, a 4-stage photo-optical vacuum tube phase shifter. A limited production run of these pedals were released in 2001. In 2003 a more compact version (Phaseomatic Deluxe) of this pedal was released (the model PM-2)
, along with their Tube-Vibe pedal

designed as a hi-fidelity version of the Shin-Ei Univibe.
In 2008, Effectrode announced the "Tube Drive", a tube effects pedal which produces overdrive, distortion and mild fuzz sounds for electric guitar. 2009 has brought two new designs to the company's lineup, one being a high-end stereo tremolo pedal called the "Delta-Trem" the other being a phase-shift based chorus the "Vibra Chorus"
Artists who use Effectrode pedals include:
