Dr. Edythe Abdullah is the current President of Essex County College. Dr. Abdullah is the sixth president and the first woman to lead Essex. She served as President of the Downtown campus of Florida State College at Jacksonville from 2001-2010.
Edythe is from Jacksonville, Florida. She earned a bachelor's degree in religion from Valparaiso University in 1974. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida in 1978. Prior to accepting the presidency at FSCJ, Abdullah served the state of Florida on numerous educational boards. She served on the University of North Florida Board of Trustees.
