EcoStruxure is an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled, software platform created by Schneider Electric meant to support interoperability between operations solutions and information technologies. It is based on six validated reference architectures that include building, data center, power, machine, plant and grid. The software can be deployed in the cloud or on premise, with the intention of integrating smart connected products, edge control, applications analytics, services and systems. Overview EcoStruxure was first developed by Schneider Electric in 2007. A next-generation version was released in 2016 with an overall goal of fully utilizing the IoT. The aim is more effective processes, higher energy efficiency, and sustainability in high-energy consumption markets like buildings, data center, industrial and infrastructure. EcoStruxure enables embedded connectivity and intelligence using standards-based communication protocols and the ability for smart devices to perform native analytics and make control decisions. Schneider Electric is a member of the Industrial Internet Consortium, which works to accelerate the development, adoption and widespread use of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
