Earthoid.com

Earthoid is an online search engine which began it's roots back in 1999 as a (WAP) Wireless Application Protocol search service for mobile devices.

In 2007 Earthoid was transformed into a "energy saving" search engine. According to the US Department of Energy any given monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen. Use of black backgrounds with white and grey colored results allows Earthoid's users to save energy consumption with every search.

Functionality
Earthoid is based on technology and features include: site previews, spell check, and suggestive search. Most recent features added to Earthoid are result tabs which can be clicked for viewing without a browser refresh. "Conserve" and "Hog" buttons which provide users with a choice of a black or a light background.
