Captain America's Super Soldiers Live. : In this world, Dr. Abraham Erskine (the man who invented the super-soldier process that created Captain America does not die, and continues to make more super soldiers. Captain America is replaced by an imposter, and becomes the dictatorial President of the United States, killing most of Earth's would-be heroes before they can gain their powers. Bucky is a college student when he joins Captain America, but he and the other super-soldiers (including Nick Fury) are killed by the imposter. The Fantastic Four, Peter Parker, and the Bruce Banner, among others, are killed by the President's S.H.I.E.L.D. agency. When A Bearded, Namor accidentally revives Captain America, they find the Avengers alongside the Hulk (actually Logan in the form of the Wendigo) and the Punisher).
Because this alternate world has not yet received an official name, nickname, or number from Marvel Comics, its simple designation derives from issue of What If? in which it was first featured.
