Earl and Dallas

Earl and Dallas is a Swedish country band, comprising Marcus Axelsson, Jonas Magnusson, Ted Stenlöv, Ulric Utsi-Åhlin and Victor Kindgren. Their first album, Songs From The Village Mill, was released in 2006. Their second album, Where Great Oakes Grow, was released in 2009.
History
The band formed in 2006 as a duo with Marcus Axelsson and Jonas Magnusson. In time for their first tour 2007, heading the Ydre Countryfestival, Ted, Ulric and Victor joined and soon became permanent members.
Earl and Dallas released their first album, Songs From The Village Mill, in 2006 on Studio Bykvarn Records. Their second album, Where Great Oaks Grow, was recorded throughout 2008 and early 2009 using a few overdubs and mainly first or second takes, with the aim of capturing as much energy as possible. It was released in Sweden in March 2009; and in the rest of the world via digital release, in December 2009. The album is an ode to the band's hometown with cover art containing old photos from the 1940s through the 1960s by Gustav Kindgren of Kindgrens Fotografi.
In 2007 and 2008, the group toured and played festivals throughout Sweden. Twice in 2008, Earl and Dallas performed with the Western Canadian Music Awards-decorated country artist Romi Mayes. Their second show together was documented by Joacim Lundqvist.
In 2009, the Swedish guitarbuilder Anders Uppström paid homage to the band by designing two acoustic guitars.
