Dylan Tombides

Dylan Tombides born (8 March 1994 in Perth, Australia) is an Australian footballer who plays as a striker for West Ham United.
Club career
Before coming to England at the age of 15, Tombides played youth football in his home country Australia and for a brief time in Hong Kong.
West Ham United
Dylan Tombides is a quick forward who plays for West Ham United. Tombides was signed on as a full-time scholar in the summer of 2010. Since then he has impressed in the reserve and youth team levels. He was named Academy Player of the Year for the 2010/11 season by academy director Tony Carr.
He was an unused substitute in the final Premier League game of the 2010/11 season against Sunderland on 22 May 2011.
International career
Tombides has been capped by Australia at U16 and U17 levels. Dylan was named in Australia's squad for the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Mexico. During the tournament he scored one goal in the Group F match against .
Personal life
Cancer
On 27 July 2011 it was announced that Tombides was undergoing treatment for testicular cancer. Tombides' condition was diagnosed at the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup and he returned straight back to England to undergo treatment. Dylan has received chemotherapy at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. Since the announcement, floods of wishes have come from fans and players alike.
