Dying Shadows, written by Surendra Pratap Singh, is a collection of short stories. The book was published on 30 Oct 2004. Plot summary The advent of 21st century is characterised by the conflicts between nations. The inner conflicts between the human minds have taken a heavy toll of human values. ‘Vrindavan Widow’ is a story of an old woman who is abandoned in a widow ashram at Vrindavan by her only son. ‘Rukhsana’ is the story of an Afghan woman living in a Kandahar village who is displaced by the American bombing. She sells her flesh and soul in Quetta, Pakistan to support her two young children. ‘Once is not enough’ is the story of two middle class conservative Indian couples, who transgress into the world of uninhibited sex to explore new horizons in relationship.
