Dwight eisenhower world war II jacket

During World War II, a few types of pilot jackets and flight jackets were issued to servicemen, both in the army and the air force. The A-2, Cooper A-2, and standard issue flight jacket made of leather were among some of those worn at that time. One particularly rare issue was Dwight Eisenhower's leather jacket, similar in style to the A-2, worn by Eisenhower himself when we has Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe throughout the war.
During Eisenhower's presidency, a few men that worked on his staff and in his security entourage became some of his closest life companions. One of those men was John A. Moaney, his valet for twenty-seven years. Sometime after his presidency ended, Eisenhower gave this jacket to John as a token of his appreciation and affection for all his years of dedication and loyalty. Bequeathed from John to another owner years later, the jacket later became a collector's item in the Raleigh DeGeer Amyx military collection, among other items in said collection comprising presidential memorabilia.
