A DVD player morpher is a software product that, when installed onto an electronic device (a PC, for instance), enables the device to not only edit and enhance DVD picture and sound settings, but also morph them out through the use and/or addition of special audio and video effects, which could be anything from 3-dimensional to mirror imaging, from random falling leaves to drizzling raindrops. Thus, the task of DVD morphing is essentially about transforming original motion pictures through a customizable sequence of these cinematic means and, along the process, creating personally differentiated clips. This is what distinguishes DVD morphing from DVD editing, which is commonly understood as the analogue improvement on existing standards of master DVDs. The Benchmarks There are numerous variants, and at times deviants, of DVD morpher software by programers across the globe; these are mostly used in North America and Western Europe. No matter by whom the software is developed and where it is used, an adequate program should be able to: • Satisfactorily play-back movies of various DVD formats • Apply built-in setting panels to edit video and audio output • Add special visibles and audibles to original clips • Smoothly link up selected movie scenes • Remove unwanted scenes from movie discs More advanced morpher software could allow users to edit and print DVD covers, record voices, capture video images and convert many DVD formats into users' preferences, in addition to the many basic functions. Besides the above-mentioned, the convenience of usage, as well as the ease of installation and care services, should also be considered in the assessment of a DVD morpher program. Program Limits Different from DVD players, DVD morpher is a software program and yet a hardware. Its only powerful compatible partner at the moment is the computer and the laptop, which could accommodate the demanding multi steps and applications needed to perform the morphing task. A relatively new concept, DVD morphing is still in the early stages of development. As a result, many advanced features such as subtitle editing and cover designing might not work as well as expected. However, DVD morpher is being made more and more user-friendly by the growing number of developers. Thus, it is worth the try for many interested in exploring the less charted paths of the digital sphere, the personalization and /or self creation of media productions.
