Ciiv

CIIV stands for Complete Interactive Information Vehicle. Is an electronics technology based device that is portable and self contained to deliver information in the form of video and audio without the utilization of any other tool or component. The device is typically hand-held and the size of a business card.

History
The term CIIV was first coined by , a technology based marketing service company founded by Dwight Tom in 2006. The development and creation of the CIIV was based on Dwight Tom's marketing expertise in the luxury goods sector. Dwight Tom developed the concept of a portable, self sustaining, marketing devise that could deliver high quality video and audio in the size of a business card. The first prototype was developed, in early 2007, in collaboration with Henry Fei of Jinxing-Digital.


Typical Features
These CIIV's are very similar to Personal Media Players with controlled features, which make them economical as marketing tools. CIIV's are capable of playing digital audio, images and video. Usually, a color LCD or OLED screen is used as a display. There are many versions of the CIIV by vCard-SYSTEMS, since it is predominately a custom order device for the Business to Business markets.


Audio Playback
Nearly all CIIV's are compatible with the MP3 audio format, and some can support Windows Media Audio (WMA), Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) and WAV.


Image Viewing
The JPEG format is compatible on all players that are capable of displaying images. Some CIIV's provide compatibility to additional file formats like GIF, PNG, and TIFF.


Video Playback
Most CIIV's support the MPEG-4 video format, and many others are compatible with Windows Media Video (WMV) and AVI. Some recent CIIV's are designed to enable compatibility with DivX video format and its open source parallel, Xvid. Software that is included with the CIIV's may be able to convert video files into compatible format.


Syncing and Transferring
CIIV's are usually packaged with an installation CD/DVD that inserts device drivers.


Hardware
Storage - CIIV's come in flash storage, reaching up to 32GB for flash memory.


Industry Usage
There is a plethora of commercial, Business to Business, usages for this type of marketing tool. Industries that best utilize this type of marketing tool are luxury goods, premium goods, high-end services and any type of business that has sophisticated complexities that allow video explanation to simplify.
