Callahanistan

Callahanistan is a fictional country that was created by a group of high school students during 2002-03. It's influence has been widespread, as it's creation has sparked numerous clubs for students throughout the D.C. metropolitan area. Members of each club establish a country, create its culture, climate, history, and other factors. Students utilize this club in order to understand the structure of a country and carry out its processes, all while having a good time.

Creation
A group of students, Lawrence Callahan, Kyle Lockgate, Michael James and Carter Applewood, established Callahanistan for a year-long assignment. After its completion, these students formed a group at which they could create an enjoyable environment to be in. It became a huge success, with eventually more than 200 students taking part. Since the number of students kept growing, Callahanistan was eventually kept to a limit, with other countries being created by eager students.

The Callahani
Callahanistan was constructed by a group of nomadic people, which needed protection from the various predators that occupied the area. The people generally had pale skin with brown or red hair and blue eyes. The Callahani very much enjoyed sports (to be discussed later). Callahanic society was relatively simple, but enjoyable for all people as their was no class system. However, it is to be noted that most of the residents of Callahanistan retain the surname of "Callahan."

The Lockwood Tribal Wars
During Callahanistan's early years, a primitive species of mammals known was the Lockwood invaded the territory. They were ferocious creatures, but they could not stand up to the supreme fighting skills of the Callahani. Their IQ was also much lower than that of the Callahani, and that of a normal human being. Their main method of attack was being extremely annoying, but the Callahani have nerves of steel and were able to defend against this strategy. A total of 15 Callahan died, while 9,000 Lockwood perished.

Religion
All Callahani practice Callahandu, which was founded by Callahandi. The Callahani worship only the ultimate god, Calli. Callahani attend religious ceremonies once every 8 years, as is Callahandi tradition

National Anthem
The National anthem of Callahanistan can be roughly translated to the following.
"Oh Callahanistan, Oh Callahanistan, Calli bless Callahanistan
Oooohh-Oooohh, Oooh Oooh Ooooooohh, Callahanistan is the man"
