This unique event took place in 1983 where a local priest (Fr. Patrick Lyons) from the parish of Balally in South County Dublin led a group of 50 or so riders, including three blind cyclists (using tandem bicycles) on a pilgrimage from Dublin via Rome to Jerusalem. The trip was led by Father Patrick Lyons. Background Father Lyons had previously led a team from Dublin to Rome in 1980 whilst in his former parish in Dublin.
