Dr. Muhammad Ilyas was born in Lucknow (1941), migrated to Peshawar at 7 years of age. School education in Peshawar and medical education at the K.E. Medical Education Lahore. Postgraduate training in medicine in London and Edinburgh, and cardiology at the Welsh Cardiothoracic Centre, Sully Hospital, and Cardiff. Member of the Royal College of Physicians, London and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Since 1970 he has been a consultant cardiologist at Muhammadi Hospital,and the International Medical Research Centre, Hayatabad since 1988. Since 1984, he has been the Honorary President of the Pakistan Heart Foundation (PHF). Associated with School Health Program (1973) and the Mountain Medicine Program (1981)the International Medical Research Centre, Hayatabad (1988) He has published literature for prevention of heart disease for free download, for medical undergraduates and post graduates..
