Doug Witham is an Australian former amateur golfer and president of the Moore Park Golf Club.
Career
Amateur golf
Witham was a medalist in the 1976 Australian Amateur held in New South Wales. He was on the winning team when the Moore Park won their fifth State Group One pennant in 1988. He had been team captain for over 21 years.
Club presidency
As president of the Moore Park Golf Club, Witham faced problems related to the club's inability to finance itself. In 1988, when the park was in danger of collapsing because of running at a loss for the past five years, he objected to the Sydney City Council's move to heavily raise the rent of the club based there as well as the member's fees and public playing fees because as he said the club could go into liquidation.
