Based on the measurements of distances between galaxies it has been concluded that the visible matter of the visible universe represents only about half a percent of all the matter of the visible universe. The rest is formed from an invisible substance called "dark matter". Dark matter's existence has been suggested by experimental evidence, yet its characteristics remain unknown. Observational data also suggest the existence of "dark energy" is an addition to dark matter.
The double dark theory, that takes into account the existence of both dark matter and energy, successfully predicted post Big Bang heat radiation maps at a cosmological scale as well as the current positioning of neighboring or distant galaxies.
