History
DNS Made Easy was founded by Steven Job, in 2002 as a free DNS solution that was targeted towards home users and small businesses that required support for dynamic DNS. The service allowed users to configure a registered domain in a web control panel and update a continuously changing IP address using a dynamic DNS software client. In 2003, the company launched Version 2.0 of the control panel. Features were added to increase user-friendliness such as HTTP redirection and load-balancing.
In 2012, DNS Made Easy made history when their IP Anycast+ network faced off against a DDoS attack that peaked at 200gbps. Despite the odds against them, DNS Made Easy's network was unaffected by the attack with no effects to end users. These attacks also sparked community concern regarding DDoS and how to effectively protect sites from attacks. Later that year, DNS Made Easy launched proprietary ANAME DNS resource records to address a requirement for CDN services to have a host name at the root. Combined with the DNS Made Easy’s Global Traffic Director service, ANAME records use different regional answers based on location. This provides the complete power and flexibility that enterprise companies require from their networks. In December, DNS Made Easy launched , an advanced system monitoring solution.
In light of recent DNS outages among providers, DNS Made Easy began an initiative late 2014 to educate the community about Secondary DNS and began a series of webinars to help better educate IT professionals about important DNS related issues.
