<big>Biography</big>
Early Life
Phonica began his career at the age of 14 as a relatively basic producer using very common production software like FL Studio and Ableton Live. Although he is often referred to as DJPhonica he is not a DJ and prefers to be referred to as Phonica. He launched various tracks on the internet and in particular on internetdj.com . Unfortunately many of his tracks failed to make the grade to be included on the IDJ Charts. His first produced track “Before I” achieved a merge rating of 6.25/10.
Music Career
After refining his technique Phonica released another track called “Its Yours” this track showed much more improvement as it achieved a score of 7.13/10. This still was not good enough to break Phonica into the exclusive IDJ Charts. Many tracks later DJPhonica produced a track called “Father Please” using vocals from the original Father Please by South African Afro band Freshlyground. Unbeknownst to himself DJPhonica would launch the track as his final goodbye to music production. As luck would have it the track debuted at number 13 on the IDJ charts. After the minimum waiting period, Phonica’s track received a career best final score of 9.56/10 and found its place firmly on the IDJ Top 10 as it peaked @ no.9 and occupied that position for 6 weeks and received over 5,500 streams.

First Album
Father Please has also been played on Local and International radio stations’ including the World Famous KissFM. Phonica was also invited to do a mix for 5FM. He turned down that offer. This set Phonica into the records books as he became the youngest producer to break into the IDJ Top 10. He also became only the second ever South African producer to break into the Top 10, after DJ Mark.Phonica rejected an undisclosed official offer to sign him and his track Father Please and instead opted to further pursue his studies. Presently Beat Boutique, a new label owned by LadyLea, is interest in signing Phonica afte
