DJ Leslie

Leslie Hodge, known professionally as DJ Leslie, is a Canadian industrial DJ and promoter.
Originally a punk, Leslie was introduced to industrial music via a Skinny Puppy show in 1985, and was mentored as a DJ by Louis Ducharme (Ottawa's prime industrial DJ of the time), joining him to perform at well-known Ottawa/Hull venues, including as Zinc, Le Bistro, Café Deluxe, and GiGi's.
She began promoting in 1995 with a showcase of underground acts from across Canada, featuring Zykotik K9, quickly becoming well-known throughout the industrial music community by establishing Ottawa as a destination for industrial acts, booking Juno Reactor, Alex Paterson, 16Volt, Download, Imminent, Scorn, Gridlock, Haujobb, and others. Her weekly Industrial night at Zaphod Beeblebrox is currently the longest-lived in North America (having started in 1993), and has helped launch a number of Ottawa artists, such as Antigen Shift, Iszoloscope, The Liar's Rosebush, and Ad·ver·sary.
DJ Leslie is known for mixing new and lesser-known artists of various genres into her sets.<ref name=Citizen /> As a result, she has been well-received in the techno and experimental scenes, performing multiple times at the annual industrial/power electronics festival Maschinenfest in Germany, and has worked with a number of alternative festivals, including C.O.M.A., Ozzfest, and Lollapalooza. Her work has been featured in the Ottawa Sun, the Ottawa XPress, IndustrialnatioN, Apocalypse Magazine, and several documentaries.
