Early Life
Anwar Gavilanes was born on July 28th, 1997 in the Sedgwick Avenue neighborhood of The Bronx, New York. At the young age of 8, he moved to Galloway Township, New Jersey with his family. Music started heavily influencing his life in the beginning of his high school years due to the fact that his father was also a DJ in the local area. After attending Absegami High School and graduating in 2015, he attended Kean University.
Career
DJ Diddy began spinning at the age of 17 at local house parties then progressed to clubs in the area. While attending his first year of college at Kean University, he got introduced to another DJ who had the same mindset as him by the name of DJ Tea and they became known as "Tea & Diddy". As he slowly started building his fan base in the area, DJ Diddy as well as DJ tea became the face of Rutgers University nightlife when they dropped their mix named "Jersey Jungle Vol. 1". The mix rapidly grew a name for itself by getting invited to do an interview at WRSU, National radio for station Rutgers University. Within the first year of working on his craft he rapidly increased his support group as well as connections in the tri-state area. By May of 2016, DJ Diddy was in the same clubs spinning with world re-known hip hop artist such as Lil Uzi Vert, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, PnB Rock, Young M.A & etc. Just recently at the young age of 19, he got offered his first Independent label offer with NuLa ENT. NuLa ENT is owned by Washington Redskins Linebacker Junior Galette.
