Summary Dheeraj Pandey is an Indian-American technology entrepreneur. Dheeraj is the co-founder of Nutanix. He was the CEO of Nutanix from 2009 to 2020. Dheeraj stepped down as the CEO of Nutanix in August 2020. Dheeraj founded Nutanix with his classmates, Mohit Aron and Ajeet Singh from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Dheeraj studied computer science at IIT, Kanpur, and graduated in 1997. IIT, Kanpur bestowed Dheeraj with the distinguished alumnus award. He joined University of Texas, Austin to pursue a PhD degree in computer science in 1997, but dropped out after getting a master's degree. He is on the advisory council of the computer science department of University of Texas, Austin. He has been on the board of Adobe since 2019. Personal life Dheeraj was born in Bihar. He grew up in Patna. Dheeraj is married and lives with his family in San Francisco Bay area. Professional life Before founding Nutanix, Dheeraj was a VP of Engineering at Aster Data Systems. Nutanix had an IPO in 2016. Stocks for Nutanix soared by 131.25% on the day of IPO making it one of the most successful IPOs of 2016. Nutanix is considered a leader in hyper-converged infrastructure. Nutanix had raised money from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, and Blumberg Capital before the IPO.
