Dhaka University Cultural Society

Dhaka University Cultural Society, also known as DUCS (), is a voluntary students' organization of the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. It is a new society of University of Dhaka. DUCS's motto is Express to Explore. DUCS started it's journey on 5th September, 2015. It is a University of Dhaka based students' society and Only students of Dhaka University can be a member of the society. Present chief patron of Dhaka University Cultural Society is AAMS Arefin Siddique; Present Vice Chancellor of the university. A student of Mass Communication and Journalism department of Dhaka University and Journalist Ahsan Rony is the founder of the Society.
Mission
Developing skills on various cultural issues and providing opportunities to get established on the cultural sectors such as Acting, Singing, Dancing, Film Making, Fashion Designing, News & Program Presentation and many more as well as Creating the platform for everyone to portrait his potentiality in national & international area, Celebrating national & international cultural festivals, Exploding unity via culture are the Mission of the society.

Fashions Houses, Modeling. Dhaka University Cultural Society tend to provide training on Modeling, arrange workshops on fashion designing.
* Singing Culture:
Trend of National & International Singing Pattern. Dhaka University Cultural Society tend to arrange workshops, concerts.
* Acting Culture:
Trend of National & International Acting Pattern. Dhaka University Cultural Society tend to arrange workshops on acting.
* Entertainment Culture:
What is going on in the TV Series, Dramas, and TV Advertisements etc. Dhaka University Cultural Society tend to organize Advertisement Fest.

Trend of National & International Cinema.

Main Activity
Dhaka University Cultural Society is creating media hub by creating a media alumni society where current students of University of Dhaka will be helped & trained by the Media professionals from various sectors who are currently working in the Media.
DUCS is also creating more scopes in the Media Industry for University of Dhaka students & make DUCS an authentic source of getting along with Media. Many a student’s face difficulties to find out a right medium to work at the Electronic & Print Media. DUCS will provide them the support.
DUCS also will create a hub for the current students (also who are working at Electronic & Print Media) so that all of us can work together to portrait University of Dhaka Properly in the Media Industry.

Membership
Dhaka University Cultural Society takes it's new member in June each year. Only freshers of University of Dhaka are eligible to apply for the membership. After a viva process,committee members of the society select few (about 150) candidates as their member. Now, there are 200 members and in them 32 are executive committee members and others are general members of the society. Present president of Dhaka University Cultural Society is Md. Wasek Sazzad while general secretary is Ahsan Rony.
