Desmond Fannin

Chef Desmond Fannin is a native of Southwest Atlanta, Georgia.

In 2001, he attained an Associate of Arts Degree in Culinary Arts from The Art Institute of Atlanta and has been recognized by the American Culinary Federation as a Certified Culinarian. Chef Fannin started his career with Sodexho Corporate Services in 2002, as a grill cook at the Weather Channel Headquarters in Marietta, Georgia. This was a temporary assignment trough Sodexho’s Staffing Service, but turned permanent within one week. Within one year, he moved on to United Way Conference Center as kitchen supervisor and was eventually promoted to Executive Chef. Chef Fannin was later named Executive Chef of Hewlett-Packard Business Center Perimeter and trained briefly at the World Trade Center Atlanta. He currently serves as Executive Chef of both United Way Conference Center and Magnolia Bistro in Atlanta. Chef Desmond also serves as District Culinary Coordinator for the Atlanta Area, affording him the opportunity to assist with unit openings, host VIP events, lead culinary trainings and co-lead the Chef Association.

He is a proud member of Sodexho’s African American Leadership Forum and Sodexho’s Metropolitan Business Groups Star Squad.

Chef Desmond is also the founder and owner of Desmond's Culinary Servies, LLC., a personal chef service in Atlanta, Georgia.

Community involvement is also key to Chef Fannin. He has participated in Real Men Cook Atlanta, Habitat for Humanity, the Atlanta Community Food Bank Hunger Walk and it's Can Can Ball, as well as Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless. Chef Desmond has also been involved with Leadership Cares Foundation, Inc., under the leadership of founder Ron Yudd. This experience landed him on an expert panel for high school kids at the National Restaurant Association Food Show in Chicago.

Chef Desmond was a member of the team providing services for the funeral of Mrs. Coretta Scott King. Among those served were Former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

He has also had the distinct honor of serving Bishop Eddie L. Long and Family of New Birth Cathedral in Lithonia, Georgia, who was very instrumental in his personal growth and culinary education.

A great deal of his culinary successes can be credited to mentors Chef Donald Wilson (Chef Donald's Creations) and Chef Darryl Evans (Verve Lounge Atlanta).

Chef Desmond is anchored by his wife, Lauren; daughter Morgan and son Jaylen. They reside east of Atlanta, Georgia.
