Michael Nebrich Controversy
In July 2011, Conner claimed to have an e-mail from a Boston College coach that was sent to Michael Nebrich, a potential UCONN quarterback recruit. Conner accused BC of negative recruitng, claiming that in the e-mail, a BC assistant coach had told Nebrich that UCONN coach Randy Edsall would not be at UCONN the next year. The claim set off a media firestorm, with many BC fans claiming that BC had no interest in Nebrich. Conner never showed a verifiable copy of the e-mail, and the claims resulted in no sanctions against BC. Conner's reports were generally dismissed as an unverified rumor throughout the media and Conner's reputation suffered as a result.
