Denver Wolverines

The Denver Wolverines are an American rugby league team based in Denver, Colorado who are part of the AMNRL's Western Expansion and are aiming to have a developmental rugby league team for the 2011 season with an aim to eventually compete in the 2012 AMNRL Season.
History and Formation
The club was formed in 2010 by Jeff Eberle, a semi-retired rugby union player from Arvada, Colorado and current member of the Tigers Alumni RFC, a former two-time U-19 State All-Star and captain of the Pomona Panthers RFC for three years in the 1990s and and Nate Urquhart who was born in Adelaide, South Australia and grew up in Arvada, often returning to Australia where he developed a passion for all wonderful Aussie contact sports. His father Peter played rugby league for the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks (a suburb of Sydney) in the 1970s, and his mother is active with the Australia-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce here in Denver.
The "Wolverine" logo that will be used by the team is the work of Matt Dougherty, also of Arvada, whose other recent accomplishments include the logo for the Seattle Force Rugby League Club and campaign posters for Colorado Governor-elect John Hickenlooper.
Support for the club has come from many within Denver's already strong rugby union community, which is a positive sign the Wolverines were hoping for. National and International interest has also been strong. Several current and former members of the USA Eagle team have contacted the club, as well as numerous high-level players from Ireland, England and Australia.
