Demzy BaYe

Derrick Asare Agyepong (born May 19, 1997), known professionally as Demzy BaYe, is a Ghanaian dancer, choreographer, dance instructor, and musician. Creator of the Baye dance step, he is associated with the Dance with a Purpose Academy (DWP Academy) and serves as an instructor at its branches in Accra and Ho, Ghana.
During his school years, Baye developed an interest in dance and formed a close partnership with his friend Endurance Grand, with whom he explored opportunities in the creative arts industry. began his professional career in dance after winning the Wosa Dance Challenge organized by Dancegodloyd in 2018. This victory earned him a spot at the DWP Academy.
He is credited with creating the "Baye Dance Step", a distinctive dance move that gained popularity for its fluidity and expressiveness.
As a performer, Baye has appeared in music videos for prominent artists, including Beyoncé's Already and works by Mr. Eazi, Stonebwoy, MzVee, and Gyakie. His performances have been featured on stages such as the Global Citizen Festival, with Usher, the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (later the Telecel Ghana Music Awards), and 3Music Awards. Additionally, he has performed internationally in countries such as the United Kindgom, Dubai, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ivory Coast and Madagascar.
Beyond performance, Baye contributes to dance education as an instructor and choreographer at DWP Academy, where he also collaborates on outreach programs to promote dance as an art form.

Baye won the 2024 TikTok Influencer of the Year award at the Pulse Influencer Awards, the 2023 Best Dance Duel (with Endurance Grand) at the Ghana Dance Awards, 2024 Most Versatile at the Great Excellence Movies Awards, the 2024 Best International Dance Choreographer at the Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts (BEFFTA) Awards UK as well as Dance Creator of the Year at the 2024 Creators Awards Ghana.
