Democracy North

Democracy North, (formerly This Week on Media Mornings) is a daily morning radio show featuring grassroots headlines. It broadcasts live from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, on unceded Coast Salish territory.

Participation
Democracy North brings together progressive news W2 Media Arts Society, Vancouver Co-op Radio, and the Rabble Podcast Network, hosted on rabble.ca, one of Canada’s leading online news service for the progressive left.
W2 Community Media Arts Society is mostly run by volunteers and gives a voice to the community Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
Vancouver Co-op Radio, CFRO, 100.5FM is a non-commercial, cooperative-owned, community radio station also located in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Its mission is to provide a space for under-represented and marginalized communities in British Columbia, Canada.
Programs
Democracy North features interviews with a wide range of several influential guests like David Suzuki, Pamela Palmater, Kinnie Starr, Michael Parenti, Maude Barlow, Elizabeth May and Judy Rebick.
During September 2013, as the City of Vancouver marked Reconciliation Week, and the Indian Residential Schools Truth and Reconciliation Commission was hearing testimony from survivors of the Canadian Indian residential school system, it broadcast a series of exclusive interviews with survivors of the residential schools, Aboriginal peoples in Canada.
