Delhi Cemetery is a cemetery for deceased humans located in the northern part of Delhi in Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada. A lot of famous and historical people are buried here, as well as veterans from World War I, World War II, the Korean War and normal citizens. The active cemetery is operated by The Delhi Cemetery Company and it can be found on 54 Hillside Avenue.
Years ago, only Roman Catholics could get buried in this cemetery. Now, anyone who either currently lives in the Delhi area or has formerly been a resident of the Delhi area can get a burial plot here. Many funeral homes can deliver a corpse to the Delhi Cemetery. However, the Delhi Cemetery is suggested only for former Delhi residents who currently live within 15 miles of the cemetery. Otherwise, the costs of transport from the funeral home and burial would be prohibitive for most people. The cemetery has dozens of tombstones from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. It is estimated that the Delhi Cemetery has used approximately 75% of it's current capacity (as of September 1, 2007) and may need to expand by the year 2025.
