Decrepitude

Decrepitude (di-ˈkre-pÉ™-ËŒtüd, -ËŒtyüd)- a term used to describe the state of many post-secondary education institutions in which unnecessary, out-of-date and irrelevant content is perpetually disseminated by what are usually tenured professors who have unordinary high and unwarranted opinions of themselves and their work. The word decrepitude was rarely used until it was recently revived by social contrarian Pierre Vanpunstut as a means for him to sum up in one word what is wrong with current-day post-secondary education. In Vancouver, Canada, where the word has come into common use, it goes to represent the activist movement of students and citizens for better education.
