Deborah Leslie

Deborah Leslie is a writer, playwright and after-dinner speaker from Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.
Leslie is the author of two children's novels featuring local landmarks. The first, Flumphaderries, Flanganans and the Real Book of Bennachie (Argo Publishing, 2003), is a fantasy adventure centered on and around Bennachie. The second, The Time-Tailor and the Fyvie Castle Witch Trials, was published in 2009 and launched at a special book launch at Fyvie Castle, attended by 90 pupils from the nearby Fyvie Primary School.
Leslie is an ambassador of the Doric, the dialect of Lowland Scots spoken in the North East of Scotland, and has to date published two collections of modern Doric short stories and poetry: Doric - Alive an Kickin and Doric - Alive an Kickin 2. In 2008, a play written by Deborah Leslie, The Clock on the Waa was performed at The Lemon Tree theatre in Aberdeen.
