Deborah B. Harwell
Deborah is a resident of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is the founder of the Myrtle Beach Herald, Myrtle Beach Business Journal, a vacation publication, a television personality, a radio personality and a celebrity about the Myrtle Beach area. She participates in fundraisers as an area personality and acts as a community leader. In the morning hours, she hosts a live talk show, WRNN 99.5FM, with her sidekicks, Steve and Dave. The show streams on wrnn.net and can be heard around the country. Also, she is President and CEO of Adobe Palm Communications, working with the SCDOT, FHWA and other government agencies on Environmental Impact Studies for highways, bridges and roads. Politics is a large part of Deborah's life and was an active lobbyist in the SC Statehouse for several years. In 2006, the SC Senate honored her by passing a Resolution crediting her for service to her community and career. She is a Palmetto Lady, receiving the highest honor in SC by the Governor of SC. She was honored by the Pee Dee Girl Scouts and received the Mary Dean Brewer Distinguished Service Award. She is an active member of the Legislative Policy Council of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the Horry County Shelter Home Board of Directors and is a member of First Presbyterian Church in Myrtle Beach and the Sarah Circle. Her son Michael, lives in Raleigh, NC, with his wife Rebecca and three sons, Grayson, Chase and Cohen. Her parents are Kenneth and Nancy Boggs in Fallston. Her grandparents were Annie & A.M. Boggs of Fallston, NC. Her brother is Kenny Boggs and his wife is Wanda Spangler Boggs, the daughter of Boyd and Joyce Spangler and granddaughter of the late C.D. Spangler, Sr. of Charlotte. Their children include Kristen, Kelley and Abbey. During her younger years, she was a participant in the Miss North Carolina pageant, singing her way back home without a crown. A graduate of Gardner-Webb College, both B.S. and A.A. degrees. She received the coveted Student Teacher of the Year Award upon graduation. She is a Dunes Golf and Beach Club stock member and a Grande Dunes Ocean Club member.
