Dean Tuza

Dean Tuza is an Australian musical composer, record producer and multi-instrumentalist. He got his studio start working with American producer Jonathan Burnside (The Melvins, Faith No More, Sleepy Jackson) at his Eastern Bloc Studios in Melbourne.
2011 saw Dean relocate to East London where he discovered and developed then-unknown Australian band The Rubens. Dean is credited with co-composition and additional production on their platinum-selling self-titled debut album which subsequently secured their recording deal with Warner Bros Records in the US.
In 2013, Dean relocated to the Lower East Side, New York to work and collaborate with producer David Kahne out of Avatar Studios (The Strokes, Lana Del Rey, Regina Spektor, New Order). Dean then co-wrote and produced Sydney artist MOSSY’s début EP ‘Extended Play’ from Avatar and Maneki Neko Studios, securing MOSSY’s signing to Australian tastemaker label I Oh You in 2015.
Soon after his stint in New York, Tuza opened his private studio in Sydney and has since been working with artists including Slum Sociable (Liberation Music), Pearls (Remote Control Records) and Stereogum’s new favourite artist MOSSY (I Oh You)
Most recently Dean worked alongside New York engineer David Tolamai (Beach House, Future Islands) to produce Leroy Bressington’s upcoming debut EP.
He now splits his time between Sydney, New York and London.
