Dean Morstad

Dean Morstad (born November 27, 1974) was born in Fridley, Minnesota, to Dan and Diane Morstad. He is an independent candidate for the United States presidential election, 2012.
Education
He attended Christian Grammar School for Kindergarten through grade 5, Highview Middle School for grades 7 and 8, and graduated from Irondale High School in 1992. Following graduation, Dean attended the University of Minnesota (Institute of Technology) for five years, completing the Undergraduate Honors program. Dean completed his first year of Electrical Engineering and changed majors to Computer Science.
Career
In 1996, Dean completed an internship with O'Pin Systems, a software company in Bloomington, Minnesota. From 1996 to 1998, Dean worked for Spacestar Communications as a Network Administrator and System Adminstrator. In 1998, he went to work for Platinum Technology, and left after the 1999 acquisition by Computer Associates.
Consulting
In 1999, Dean began Information Technology consulting with Jaffray Communications. Dean moved to Kansas in 2000 to work for Sprint, returning to Minnesota in January of 2002. Dean worked began specializing as a Project Manager in 2003. He consulted for several companies between 2003 and 2007; including U.S. Bancorp, Schwan Food Company, Deluxe Corporation and SUPERVALU.
From 2008 to 2012, Dean worked full time for SUPERVALU as a Project Manager. In August of 2012, Dean Morstad left SUPERVALU and returned to consulting as a Project Manager for Capella University.
Non-Profit
In 2010, Dean Morstad joined the Board of Directors of Love Lines Crisis Center, and has served since 2011 as the Chairman.
Political Career
In November, 2011, Dean Morstad filed as an independent Presidential candidate with the Federal Election Commission . He identifies himself as a strict Constitutionalist.
On August 21, 2012, the Minnesota Secretary of State announced that Dean had met the filing requirements to appear on the Minnesota ballot in the 2012 General Election.
Dean Morstad has also gained write-in access in Delaware, Utah, and West Virginia.
