Dr. Robert Dayton Hobbs was putatively the founder of organized Tee Ball. He was born December 11, 1924 and died on December 19, 2006. Dr. Hobbs was a preacher, an educator, an author, and an inventor. As a lover of children, wrote several religious books for them. Hobbs is best known for taking the traditional children’s game, t-ball and organizing it as well as registering and trademarking the name as Tee Ball in 1973.
