Daymon Andrews is an American author of political thriller novels. His initial work, The Sword and the Star: Temple Mount, reached Top Ten in Political Fiction on Amazon.com.
Biography
Daymon Andrews was born in Georgia and is a graduate of the University of Georgia (1984, B.A., 1988, M.A.). Upon graduation, Andrews went to work in the insurance industry as an underwriter and analyst.
Andrews' inspiration for writing occurred while he was on vacation in Hawaii in 2005. He credits Joel Rosenburg as his inspiration for writing. Quotes Andrews: "I read "The Last Jihad" and just loved it. When I finished it, I told my wife I think I could write something like this. She said why don't you, and well, the rest is history as they say."
Andrews notes he has attempted to combine the military detail of a Clancy with the end-time appeal of the "Left Behind" series.
In addition to Joel Rosenburg, Andrews cites Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn and Clive Cussler as his favorite authors.
Long fascinated by politics, military history and end-time prophecy, the Middle East was a natural selection for "The Sword and the Star: Temple Mount." Quotes Andrews: "The Temple Mount is the key obstacle to peace in the Middle East. If something were to ever happen to that structure, the Middle East would explode."
Following the example of Flynn, Andrews self-published "The Sword and the Star: Temple Mount" in 2007 through Tate Publishing and Enterprises.
