David John Whitburn LL.B BSc is a property investor, developer and presenter based in Auckland, New Zealand. He grew up in Epsom, and started building his property investment portfolio in Auckland in 2002. Whitburn was one of the first people to use then advocate the minor dwelling property investment strategy, secondary houses on the same title , and has since developed over 150 houses for his clients around Auckland. Whitburn currently serves as Vice President of the Auckland Property Investors' Association (Incorporated) . He is a director and trustee of a number of property and information technology related businesses. Early life, family and employment Whitburn was born 16 November 1977, in Auckland, New Zealand to chartered accountant, Richard John Whitburn and journalist, Alison Mary Whitburn. He attended King's College, Auckland in Auckland from 1991 - 1995, then studied conjoint Law and Science degrees from the University of Auckland from 1996 - 2000. He was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in 2001 by the Chief Justice, Sian Elias. Whitburn took up part-time employment at Deloitte during his studies in 1993, served on the Auckland University Department of Chemistry Council in 1996 - 1997, Auckland University Law Students' Association from 1997 - 1999, and left Deloitte in 2002, to work as a solicitor at Russell McVeagh from 2002 - 2003, before he embarked on his property investment business career. David Whitburn is married to Bridget Whitburn, a former auditor at KPMG and a company director. His sister Sarah Whitburn is also a lawyer.
