David Donovan

David Donovan (born 1970) is the founder and publisher of Independent Australia, an online publication of news, analysis and opinion. Previously, Donovan served as Independent Australias managing editor from its founding in June 2010 until June 2020. Donovan has reported and written articles for Independent Australia, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Crikey. In 2015, Donovan was a finalist in the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance's Clarion awards for his interview with Queensland Government Minister and Mermaid Beach MP Ray Stevens,who performed a "chicken dance" instead of answering Donovan's questions. Prior to his career as an editor and journalist, Donovan was the media director and vice-chair of the Australian Republic Movement. |
