David Carrington

David Carrington is an American businessman and politician from the state of Alabama. Carrington owns RacingUSA.com, the country's largest NASCAR memorabilia website, and is a current county commissioner for Jefferson County. Carrington formerly served as a city council member on the Vestavia Hills City Council. Carrington is also a candidate in the 2018 Alabama Gubnatorial race.
Education
Carrington graduated from the University of Houston with an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a graduate degree in business administration.
Personal Life
Carrington has been married to Sonia Carrington since 1971. He has two sons with Sonia, both married. He has 7 total grandchildren between each of his sons.
Time as County Commissioner
Carrington was elected to the Jefferson County Comission on November of 2010, and continues to represent its 5th district. During his time on the Comission, Carrington has had relative success in boosting the Jefferson County's economy. In 2011, Jefferson County filed (surpassed only by Detroit in 2013.) Carrington served as Comission President during his first term as commissioner, during which time the County filed and then was lifted out of bankruptcy. Following his election as Comission President, the Comission restructured, and made many large-scale changes that brought eventual economic growth to the region.
