David Calabro

David Calabro is a sports-caster and Sports Director for WTHR in Indianapolis, Indiana. He reported for WTHR at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Calabro, of Italian descent, provided background for Italian history and culture on Channel 13's OlympicZone. He is an alumnus of Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis (graduated 1981) and was on the WBDG radio staff in high school. In 2007 he became the primary announcer for the Indianapolis 500, replacing veteran announcer Tom Carnegie. Calabro was a sports reporter for WDTN Channel 2 in Dayton, Ohio during the 1990s, where he handled Indianapolis 500 Coverage and began as the turn 2 radio announcer. |
