Dave Belser (born December 30 1951 in Brooklyn, New York) is a semi-professional jazz guitarist from Long Island, the son of well-known radio personality Jack Barry. He left the full-time "music world" to become a clinical psychologist in 1991 but still occasionally plays gigs. Belser was somewhat well-known throughout the seventies and eighties and played professionally with musicians such as vibraphonist Steve Nelson, drummer Doug Richardson, bassist Dominic Duval, and guitarist Joel Fass. He was mentored by teacher/guitar player Ted Dunbar, who passed away in 1998, and also was given various lessons by Chuck Wayne.
