Daniel Ra

Daniel Ra
(Birthdate: August 15, 1989) is an aspiring Graphic Designer, Founder and CEO of Identity Studio and Shop; he is a pre-medical student attending the University of Washington, Seattle.
Born in Tamuning, Guam, Daniel spent his earlier years as a sponsored skateboarder for his local cities shopping center, Guam Premium Outlet. Most notable for his designing insight, Daniel started Graphic Design at the age of 16. Initially self-taught, Daniel quickly went on to expanding his design knowledge by taking courses at his high school, Franklin Pierce High school.
At the age of 18 Daniel got his first magazine feature in Advanced Photoshop’s Featured Portfolio’s section, and then again on its Reader’s gallery that preceding month (courtesy of Julie Easton, editor of AP). At 19 he placed as a Semi-finalist for the National Nvidia Speak Visual Design Digital Competition. At 20 he went on to be one of the youngest competitors ever to win the Adobe CS5 competition, and the only one to win twice. Daniel later went on to found Identity Studio and launched the Identity clothing line the following year. He is currently a veteran artist of the international design collective known as SlashTHREE, Founder and CEO of Identity Studio and Shop, and a continuing undergraduate in the Cell and Molecular Biology field at the University of Washington.

Competitions
Daniel started off by winning many small design competitions centered on his high school chapter’s National Honors Society and International Key Club. Daniel went on to win the 2009-2010 University of Washington planner design contest, but was later disqualified due to administrative complications. His first major competition came at the age of 19 when he entered in the vector division for the national Nvidia Speak Visual Design Digital competition, in which he placed runner-up as a semi-finalist. His next major competition was the Adobe sponsored CS5 competition; Daniel was one of the youngest competitors to win, and the only competitor to win twice.
Charity
During his adolescent years he served as the Vice President of his high school chapters International Key Club, in which he helped with several successful smaller charities including UNICEF. Daniel’s first notable charity act came at the age of 17 where he was placed as the president of the New Life Presbyterian churches Mexico mission fundraising team; he helped raise over $3,000 in funds within the first year. Daniel was actively a part of the Mexico mission team for three consecutive years, two of which he participated in active missions. He was later chosen as one of the 2009 combined fundrive coordinators for the UWMC (University of Washington Medical Center), and is currently a proud sponsor of the Bright Future Alliance.
